WHAT IS E-LIQUID?

So what is e-liquid?

E-liquid is the tasty, juicy stuff we fill our tanks with and drip on our coils. It comes in many different flavours, all our flavours contain 0% nicotine but we have options for people that wish to add their own.

Our e-liquid generally consists of 3 main ingredients, here we’ll explain them in simple terms.

Propylene Glycol

Propylene Glycol or PG as we call it, is basically a flavor carrier when used for vaping. It is also used to thin out the viscosity of the e-liquid.

Vegetable Glycerin

Vegetable Glycerin or VG is a thick liquid that is responsible for the “cloud” produced when an e-liquid is vaporised.

Flavourings

Food grade flavourings provide us with a range of delicious tastes for us to enjoy while we vape.

So what’s up with the PG/VG ratios?

It’s all about balance, PG carries the flavour while VG creates the cloud. PG heavy liquids can also be quite harsh on the throat which is why it is best to have more VG than PG. In some cases, too much VG can lead to loss of flavour or the flavours tasting muted.

We recommend 40PG/60VG for use in tanks and 30PG/70VG in RDA’s. The reason for this is wicking. Some tanks require a little more PG to thin the e-liquid in order to function correctly without the coil running dry while vaping.

What is steeping?

Steeping is the term used for letting an e-liquid age. The reason for this is it takes time for the mix to blend and taste the way it was intended. Generally fruit flavours only need a few days of steeping whereas anything with creamy or dessert flavours need anywhere between 1-4 weeks for the creams to develop and all the flavour notes to pop out.

Doubler or ready to vape. Which should I choose?

Ready to vapes are just that, ready to vape. RTV’s still require steeping but they require no further mixing.

Doublers are designed for people that either want the maximum amount of VG in their e-liquid or if they are wanting to add nicotine.

Doublers are double strength in flavour and supplied in a bottle half full. The user is required to fill the rest of the bottle with either VG or a mixture of VG and nicotine. The reason we sell doublers is because it is illegal for us to sell e-liquid containing nicotine in Australia. The user can buy unflavoured nicotine overseas. By adding a mixture of unflavoured nicotine and VG to one of our doublers will mean you can enjoy our flavours with nicotine without diluting the flavour. Once mixed the e-liquid will taste the same as our ready to vape’s in terms of flavour strength.

Feel free to contact us with any question regarding mixing doublers. We are always happy to help when it comes to working out the amounts and ratios for your vaping needs.
